Yamunotri

Badrinath

The last stop, Badrinath, is dedicated to Lord Vishnu in his form as Badrinarayan. It is one of the holiest shrines in the Vaishnava tradition. Surya Kund

Pilgrims visit Surya Kund not only for its rejuvenating waters but also for preparing Prasad (temple offerings). With the scalding water at around 88°C, pilgrims prepare Prasad of potato or rice mixed with salt, boil it in the hot spring and then offer it to the temple deity before taking some home. This unique culinary ritual enhances the spiritual experience of visitors and creates a meaningful connection with the divine in this holy place. Named after the river Yamuna, believed to be the daughter of the sun god Surya, this hot spring is set against a backdrop of snow-capped mountain peaks, adding to its sacred aura. It is located near the Yamunotri Temple.

Divya Shila

Brahma Kapal is steeped in mythology as it is connected to the story of Lord Shiva's quest for redemption after killing Brahma, and it is where Brahma's severed head fell from Shiva's trident (Trishul). It is positioned at a mere 100 meters north of the Badrinath Temple.

Charanpaduka

Charanpaduka is believed to bear the footprints of Lord Vishnu. According to Hindu mythology, Lord Sri Krishna advised his minister Uddhav to take Charan Paduka to Badrinath to seek forgiveness for his wrongdoing. To reach Charanpaduka, visitors embark on a 3 km trek from Badrinath, which takes approximately 1.5 hours and is an integral part of the spiritual journey to Badrinath. It is located 3 km from Badrinath in Uttarakhand.

Devprayag

Devprayag holds special significance as a sacred town where the Bhagirathi and Alaknanda rivers merge to form the mighty Ganges. This confluence point is not only stunning but also home to several temples. It is located at a distance of 73 kilometres from Rishikesh.

Yes, there is a trekking route to Kedarnath. The journey starts from Gaurikund, which is approximately 16 kilometers away. This trek is challenging and typically takes about 6-8 hours each way. Along the trail, you'll find small shops and resting places. If walking is challenging, pony and doli services are available.
